Badminton Shoes

How do badminton shoes differ from regular sports hall shoes? Compared to sports such as handball and volleyball, badminton shoes are built a bit flatter and lighter. The badminton game is characterized with very short, explosion-like accelerations that have to be slowed down exactly as abrupt. Thereby, it is also accelerated and slowed down frontwards, backwards and also to the side. First and foremost, an optimized power transmission with simultaniously cushioning and stability is important.
The cushioning of badminton shoes is normally achieved with an EVA mid-sole, in the heel area high-quality models often have a seperate cushioning system (for e.g. the Wave-technolgy by Mizuno).
With better models, stability is ensured with a strengthened mid-bar that connects the fore-foot with the heel area. This makes sure that the shoe does not turns in itself.
The high-class badminton shoes (for e.g. the top models by brands Yonex, Li Ning, Victor and Oliver) also offer a side stabilization that is supposed to prevent a sliding to the side, next to this mid-bar.
Choosing the right badminton shoe is an individual task. If you need for e.g. a wider or thinner shoe, depends on the foot form.
